Modal split as above is now about the same as in Bath 

Above – light rail/tram increasing, buses declining nationally

When London’s trams were replaced by trolley buses, in the 1950s, there was an immediate drop of 30% patronage

The claim was that it would reduce congestion, but the reverse occurred.
